The University of Chicago's Museum of the history, language, and culture of the ancient Near East ("Near East" meaning Egypt, Persia, Mesopotamia, etc.).

Here you can see some of the earliest examples of writing known to man, as well as actual mummies. A quiet, off-the-beaten-path destination for history buffs and curious humans.
